Through Jesus, God invites me to become like Him

Matthew 11:5 “The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.”

As Jesus points to everything He is doing to repair the damage of our lives and our world because of sin I think there is also some insight that goes along with this verse. As God enters into our world through Jesus Christ we can be assured that in taking on humanity, Jesus experienced everything we experienced. He laughed, cried, ate, slept, happy, sad, angry, traveled, fellowship w/ friends; worked; served; etc. As Jesus identifies with every aspect of our lives, He also invites us to identify with every aspect of His life. He invites us to heal; cure; give freedom; perform miracles; proclaim the good news. God identifies w/ us through Jesus so that now we can identify with Him and continue His mission here within the world.

Lord, help me to live the kind of life today that points to you. Thank you for identifying with every aspect of my life and inviting me to identify with every aspect of yours. May my life reflect more and more of you; may I live today in ways that resemble you. Give me the strength to continue your mission here within this world and help me to identify with others that in turn they may identify with you. Amen!!!
