Achieving Success: “Having the approval of God”

Psalm 90:17

Sàand may the Lord our God show us His approval and make our efforts successful.  Yes, make our efforts successful!

HàMoses must have a lot of pressure upon him.  God has called him to do an amazing task in leading Israel to the promised land.  I imagine that there were plenty of times where he felt like giving up and throwing in the towel.  I imagine that there were times where he fell on his face and said, Lord, show us your approval and make our efforts successful.

AàGosh, I can relate to this text this morning.  As I am a person God has called to be a part of a new church plant I find myself overwhelmed at times with an enormous amount of pressure.  I find myself feeling as if things are falling apart while at the same time having great hope in the vision of what could be.  I find myself today falling on my face and pleading with God to show us His approval and to make our efforts successful.  God is the “x” factor.  If He doesn’t show up its not going to happen.  It will only be through His grace and I get overwhelmed with joy and with the hope of what can be when God will make our efforts successful.

PàLord, I come to you this morning realizing that my best efforts will fall short in the planting of this church.  It will only be through your efforts, mercy, and grace that Crossroads will become the church you desire.  There are so many things that have to happen and I feel powerless and consumed at the thought of all the variables.  However, I come before you on my face today and say that I am holding on.  I am not letting go and I am trusting that you are going to show us your approval and make our efforts successful.  I’m gonna wrestle until you bless us.  I’m trusting that you are going to show up and I am ready to watch the unfolding before my eyes and at the same time be a part of the unfolding….Amen.

EàGod is the “key” to success; I’m counting on success because I’m counting on God.
