Are you more valuable dead or alive?

Philippians 1:24 “but for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live”

Paul is talking to the Philippians and telling them that he is such a force for the gospel that is it more valuable for the Kingdom of God for him to be alive then dead.

What a powerful picture of discipleship. What a great question to ask. Is my discipleship to Jesus at the place where it is better for me to live then to die? Would the Kingdom of God be worse off if I died or would it be better for me to be in heaven then to continue in my current practice of discipleship? Tough questions, huh?

I desire for my faith practice to be so focused and committed to the cause of Jesus that it would be a huge blow if I died. I desire to have a practice of faith where I am doing more good for the mission of Jesus alive then if I was dead. I pray God would give me the grace to continue being this force of good in the world.
