Church Planting: “Claiming the Land God is giving you”
Joshua 1:3
I promise you what I promised Moses: “Where ever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you.”
This is one pretty awesome promise. “Where ever you set foot, you will be on land I haven given you.” For a church planter this is the kind of promise you want to hold onto. I step out boldly in faith today and claim that the God of Moses and Joshua is the same God that came in Jesus Christ and is the same God that I serve through the grace of the Holy Spirit. As a follower of this God, I claim this promise for Crossroads. I claim that God has given us this land and where ever we set foot is land God has given us. It is from this promise that I claim any authority within this land and trust in God’s guidance to shape and mold this new community of faith.
Jesus, I would ask you today to give me the grace to walk in your confidence knowing that you have given us this land. I pray that you would guide us in this new found land; show us where we are to dwell; show us how long we are to travel; show us which battles you want us to fight; show us where you need to be; show us each step of faithfulness. Give us opportunities to trust in you; create a story worth telling through our faith. Give us the grace to walk by faith and not by sight. Give us the courage to claim this land in your name and trusting you to take care of the rest. Give us the strength to step out in faith and take on a ministry in this land that will only succeed if you step in.
